A special cooking course - for children between 8 and 13 years
Here you get the chance to snipp, peel, stir and discover healthy ingredients. Together we are cooking and frying in big pots and pans. With big enthusiasm you will fold napkins, lay the table and serve and eat tasty dishes.

Job orientation with a difference

At 9th and 10th of July 2012 "career orientation with a difference" took place in Bad Schandau.

On 9th and 10th of July 2012 the Employment Agency Pirna invited 46 interested students of classes seven to nine for "very close job orientation". On the morning of the first day they took the paddle steamer from Pirna to Bad Schandau. Here, the students had the first chance to look behind the scenes. The aim of the campaign was the visit of several hotels, the exploration of kitchen, restaurant and hotel as well as the self-experimentation.

Also, our hotel Lindenhof was able to grant the students a glimpse into the everyday work and training life.

Roof terrace with view over Bad Schandau

Since 3rd July 2011 we opened our guest terrace for you. It provides you with stunning views over the rooftops of Bad Schandau up to the Lilienstein and the Bastei. With a total of 16 comfortable seating our guest terrace offers pure relaxation and this throughout the whole year - during the opening times of the Lindenhof. While staying at our roof terrace you can enjoy both food and drinks and delicious cocktails. For our guests the use is of course free of charge.

All rooms have an elegant new look!

In January and February 2010 our 41 rooms including bathrooms were renovated completely. The company "Voglauer" - a brand for high-quality natural wooden furniture - furnished the guest rooms. Enjoy the symbiosis of sociability, warmth and romance. The company "König Bäder" redesigned our bathrooms. Look and see during your next visit in our hotel!

During the popular 4-courses "Malermenu" the guests discover not only the culinary delights of Ludwig Richter but also demonstrate their artistic abilities. Due to excellent teamwork an artwork developed which shows the beauty of the Saxon Switzerland. We want to thank all guests for their creativity and at this point we present the finished painting which will get an place of honour in our hotel Lindenhof.

Natural wonder Saxon Switzerland

Great award for the Bastei - the emblem of Saxon Switzerland. The foundation of the animal film producer Heinz Sielmann, who died in 2006, put the Bastei as one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Germany to the vote in the internet. There were 42 natural phenomenons to choose from, amongst others the chalk cliffs of Rügen, the Wadden Sea of the North Sea Coast and the "Brocken" in the "Harz". The Bastei was placed second in a nationwide vote. Only the Wadden Sea got more votes.

Our hotel Lindenhof won the competition "cup of hospitality"

In July 2008 the competition of the "cup of hospitality" of District Administrator Michael Geisler and the regional organisataion DEHOGA of Saxon Switzerland in th administrative district Saxon Switzerland-East Erzgebirge started.

This year it is new that the cup is awarded in three different categories: „the most convivial hotel", „the most convivial guesthouse" and „the most convivial restaurant".

Until the end of November 2008 all 39 participating hotels, restaurants and guesthouses were put to the acid test. To judge impartial and equitable the jurors decided that the three best companies of each category should be checked another time. Not till then, the "most convivial establishment" was awarded.

Proudly, we has received the cupr for "the most convivial hotel" in January 2009.

Of course, this is a special challenge for us that we would like to meet again in 2009.

Already. in the last year our hotel was awarded the second place in the competitin "cup of hospitality 2007".

Climber's rest in the new pavilion

Next to our beautiful garden terrace our newly constructed pavilion with an amazing view to the idyllic city-park is awaiting you. Consistent with the rustic ambiance our kitchen team created two delicious menus. Of course, this comfortable rest is not only for climbers - it is also suitable for hungry hikers and families. Hotel guests have also the possibility to read or relax in our pavilion.

Non-smoking rooms

So that your stay will be as pleasant as possible our hotel Lindenhof offers solely non-smoking rooms. In the Old German restaurant smoking is also forbidden since 1.2.2008 according to the Saxon non-smoking act.
